M&P Amusement was founded in 1932 by Philip Patz. The company at that time operated candy, cigarettes, music boxes and pinball machines.
Over the years the company grew to include Advance Vending in Anne Arundel Co. Maryland, which operated cash payout machines during the 1960s. We also took over Venture Vending of Baltimore Maryland, which was a full line of candy, food, beverage operation as well as music and games.
M&P Amusement was one of the first companies to export games worldwide starting in the early 1960s. Michael Patz joined the firm during the summer in 1963 and became full time in 1969.
In 1978 the company opened its first mall arcade. From this beginning M&P Amusement developed Pocket Change America. Pocket Change grew to be the third largest arcade chain with over 192 locations. Mike was in charge of games for both companies during this time.
In 1999 Pocket Change was sold to Namco America. M&P Amusements since has gone on to be one of the largest sellers of pinball, videos, and collectables to both the home and wholesalers. We sell to some of the largest arcade chains, campgrounds and theme parks. We offer new machines, or fully refurbished used machines. You can even buy games as is and save money. We even help our customers design their game room or arcade.
M&P Amusements has been in this business for over 70 years, and we plan to be here another 70.
